The Lansdowne Park Lifestyle Village Masters tournament was held on Sunday with the new format of only one round attracting the biggest field for some years. Being a Masters event the field was divided into age divisions, 40-59, 60-69 and 70+ in both men and women. The overall winner and Lansdowne Park Masters Champion for 2015 was Ray Verhaart on 43 points and he was presented with the magnificent trophy and a $1000 travel voucher. The nearest the pins were won by Jocelyn Pollock, Mike Falloon, Ray Verhaart and Murray Wolland and the longest drives by Roselee Thurston, Jocelyn Pollock, Richard Schofield, Ray Verhaart and Allan Williams.
Over the last couple of weeks two of the major competitions for men have been decided with the final of the Baker Fourball being played on Saturday. In the final Harry Quinn and Murray Wolland played Bruce Watkins and Russell Stewart in a very close match that was won on the 19th hole with a birdie to Harry so the 2015 champions are Harry Quinn and Murray Wolland. Two weeks ago the Cameron Trophy final, the men’s foursomes competition, was played between Ray Verhaart and Simon Smith, and Simon Buckley and Gavin Harris. This match was won by Verhaart and Smith 6/5.
The TRC Toyota Twilight is underway and over 40 players braved a bad weather forecast for the first night and managed to be back in the club house before the rain set in. Winners on the night were Mitch Hooper in the men’s competition with 20 points, and Ann Hart in the women’s competition with 23 points. Longest drives were Glen Jackson and Barbie Wallace and Murray Wolland won the All Teed Up Nearest the Pin. The Matahiwi Estate Pinot Noir Lucky Draw went to Harry Quinn. With nine teams already entered in the ‘teams’ competition Twilight looks like being very popular.
The 9 Holers had their Shootout final last Wednesday and 10 players set off with Errol Warren emerging as the winner from Di Herbert and Gill Neal.
On Tuesday the ladies field had a Captains Choice and played a competition where players had to count all their shots on the fairway. Brenda Blatchford won with a score of 35 from Jane Buchanan and Carol Morgan, also with 35. In the stableford competition results were-

The women’s prize giving is next Tuesday and Nooroa Rota and Jane Williams will represent the club at the Champions of Champions at Miramar on Sunday.
The mens champion of champions will be represented by Rob Blackett, Jamie Strang and Jim Kettle at Karori.
The Monday vets played a stableford round but, because of the weather, no women played. Results were-

Jack Richmond won the All Teed Up Nearest the Pin on No 8 and Dean Gray, No 18 but the biggest result was Murray Wolland winning a good birdsnest for his two 2’s.
The Thursday New World Supermarket competition was won by Mike Dixon with 38 points from Murray Wolland, also with 38. Third was Gavin Harris with 37, then a swag of players on 35. John Tatham won the All Teed Up Closest to the Pin on No 8.
The final two qualifying opportunities for the Moore Stephen Markham men’s shootout are this Thursday and Saturday and, at this stage there are at least three players who need some more rounds to reach the minimum of seven qualifying scores. This weekend is again very busy with the Men’s Match Committee AGM at 10.30am on Saturday, followed by club day and then the men’s prize giving where all winners and, in some cases runners up, will receive their trophies and vouchers and then on Sunday All Teed Up are holding an open 3 person Ambrose Tournament for both men and women with registration from 10am for an 11am tee off. Please enter ‘in advance’ so the pros can calculate your team handicap. Don’t forget to enter on the Trust House Christmas Cheer on 28 November- the draw sheet is up in the foyer.
Off The Fairway
The field for the 2016 Recreational Services Pro Am on 29-30 January is now full and a waiting list has been started. We don’t know who is in the pro field yet as those entries are made through the NZPGA but not only will our pros, Shaun and Joel be playing, but former Masterton member Glenn Robinson has been invited to play. Glenn is now an apprentice pro at Bridge Pa.
