Course Hazards & Conditions

Be aware of golf carts, uneven ground, water hazards near the 5th and 12th, and low sun on the western holes. Please keep to paths where marked.

  • Lightning: in the event of an electrical storm, suspend play immediately and take appropriate shelter.
  • Fog & poor visibility: do not start or continue play when you cannot see the clear distance of your intended shot.
  • Surfaces: the course, steps and paths may be slippery when damp or wet. Wear appropriate footwear and, wherever possible, keep to footpaths and steps.
  • Take care entering and leaving deep-sided bunkers and on steeper slopes around the course.
  • Take care when travelling between holes that cross over other holes.

Player Safety

  • Golfers are expected to take reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of all people on the course.
  • Do not hit a golf ball when another player or worker is within striking distance of where your ball may land.
  • Do not hit if you cannot see the flight direction of the ball and where it could land, unless you are confident no one is within striking distance ahead of you.
  • Stay at least 3 metres away from another player when taking a practice swing.
Course Work Icon
Course Work
  • Fairway & rough maintenance: wait for an approaching vehicle or mower to pass behind you, or move out of range, before playing your shot — or play on if the operator signals you to.
  • Greens maintenance: if a green is being worked on and the flagstick is not in the hole, do not hit up to the green until the flagstick is replaced and the green is cleared, or you have been called on to play.
  • Spraying: spraying of pesticides, fungicides and other chemicals is an important part of course maintenance. Warning signs will be displayed on the starting tee when toxic chemicals are in use. It is at a member or visitor's own discretion whether they use the course on days when chemicals have been applied.

📢

Always shout “FORE!”

Players must call “FORE!” if their ball is heading towards another person, or if they cannot see the full range of a wayward shot onto adjacent fairways.

  • Do not play until the players in front are out of range.
  • Make sure no one is standing close by, or in a position to be hit by the club, the ball, or any stones, pebbles or twigs, when you make a stroke or practice swing.

On hearing “FORE!” — crouch, cover your head with your arms, and count to 10.
