The TRC Toyota Twilight had its final night and presentation of trophies last Wednesday and the curtain came down on a highly popular and successful 14 weeks of golf. Superbly organised by Harry Quinn, 87 players took part across the season and 647 rounds of 9 hole golf were played. The prize list was an exhaustive one but the winning team over the 10 nights of the ‘team’ competition was Northco Associates, comprising Glenn Jackson, Kris Towgood, Kimberley Wolland and Murray Wolland. They scored 576 points to win by a mere two points from ‘Three Generations’. The ‘Overall Season Individual Champion’ was Mitch Hooper who scored 213 points on his best 10 nights to win by 10 points from Kris Towgood. Each week at least $100 of prizes were won and over the season 61 of the 87 plyers won at least one prize from the $1500 prize pool.
The men’s Wellington interclub had a full round last weekend with the most successful team being the 18 hole A1 team that played Wainuiomata at home for a 9-6 win. Singles winners were Simon Buckley, Robin Carseldine, Phillip Rutene, Geoff Masters, Jim Kettle and Murray Wolland. Our Gibsonsheat Otaki Cup team played Judgeford at Royal Wellington and after halving the morning foursomes, managed only 4 points in the afternoon singles to lose 6½-8½ with singles wins to Sam Forrester, Simon Smith, Gavin Harris and Rob Blackett. Div A4 finished their tough early season schedule including Pauatahanui and Ohariu Valley, with a trip to Karori for another 4½-10½ loss with wins to Carl Christensen, Jamie Brunton, and Alan Kirkham.
The 9 holers interclub continued their busy season with a visit to Shandon to play Paraparaumu. Unfortunately, the 0-4 loss meant there were no ‘winners’
The vets returned to their regular Monday competition for a stableford round. Results were-

The Wednesday 9 holers got perhaps the worst weather of the last month for their putting round which was won by Gill Neal with 16 putts. The PGG Wrightson Longest Drive went to Suzie Williams.
Last Thursday’s field suffered with the drop in temperatures and only 17 players finished the round. Geoff Masters won the day with 40 points from Peter Cottier with 37 and Gavin Harris and Brent McHattie with 36. The All Teed Up Closest to the Pin was awarded to Gavin Harris.
With the men’s interclub all playing there was an impact on the Saturday club field which played a stableford round. Results were-

This Easter weekend there will be a normal club day on Saturday but the major event of the holiday weekend is the Juken NZ Easter Bunny Tournament on Monday.
Off The Fairway
The men’s 18 hole interclub teams play a ‘home and away’ format and because most of the matches are against Wellington clubs a lot of travelling is involved. However last Saturday one Karori player decided he wanted more travelling than required and blissfully set off from Karori to play his interclub ‘away’ at Masterton. Unfortunately, when he arrived at Masterton and found none of his teammates there he rang the team captain, only to find he was supposed to be at Karori and was teeing off in 10 minutes! Needless to say he didn’t make it, Masterton allowed a replacement who duly lost his match and when the field arrived back in the Karori club house found a letter of apology from a very repentant former Div A4 player!
