After gale force winds of the kind we had on Sunday it is always with some trepidation members venture out onto the course to see what damage has been done and, yes, we lost another tree. The large gum tree, beside the 16th tee, was blown completely over with its relatively small root mass entirely exposed. I suppose the good thing about it is that this was not a strategic tree and, apart from providing shade to golfers waiting to tee off, won’t be missed but will be cleaned up very quickly by the firewood ‘boys’.
