The All Teed Up Nearest the Pin’s were won by Jack Richmond, Edith Clarkson and Simon Buckley but perhaps the biggest winner of the day was Jack Richmond who won the jackpot albeit a very small one!

On Sunday the final of the Wairarapa Shootout was played at Mahunga and, up to lunch after 7 holes our three representatives were all still in the field. However Murray Wolland was eliminated on the 8th and Ray Verhaart went out in spectacular fashion on the 9th leaving Simon Buckley as Masterton’s sole hope. He lasted until the 16th hole where he lost in a chip out.

Fortyseven players attended the TRC Toyota Twilight golf last Wednesday and scoring was variable.  Mitch Hooper won the men’s division with 24 points and Jan Tatham had 22 in the women’s. The lowest scores in both divisions were 12 points showing that the heat took its toll on some of the field. Darryl Hart and Jeanette McNae delivered the longest drives and Sue Dalziell was Nearest the Pin on the 8th. A special draw saw Matt Hooker, on his first outing, pick up the Matahiwi Pinot Noir. The teams’ competitions are becoming very close with any of three teams able to take out the two competitions. With only four Wednesdays left, it’s going to come down to the wire once each team’s worst two scores are taken from their totals.

The Thursday New World Supermarket competition was won by Graeme Jones with 41 points from Murray Johnston, Dennis Hogg, Jack Richmond and Geoff Masters, all on 40. The All Teed Up Nearest the Pin was Ash Peterson.

The 9 holers had a stableford round on Wednesday which was won by Di Herbert with 22 points from Jill Slight on 21. Di Herbert won the PGG Wrightson Longest Drive.

This Saturday all the men’s interclub teams are in action with the new Div A4 team playing at Masterton. The club field will tee off at 12 noon as usual.
