The main event over Easter was the Juken NZ Easter Bunny Tournament on Monday. In excellent golfing conditions a reasonable field played a stableford competition in three divisions. The best result went to Jane Buchanan with a magnificent 42 points. Other results were-

Nearest the Pins were awarded to Carl Christensen and Jim kettle and the longest drives on No 10 were won by Jeremy Harp, Jeff Ogg and Jo Bird. Lots of easter eggs complimented the major prizes making this well run tournament a very enjoyable event.
The Saturday men’s club field played a South African stableford, where you play with a partner and at the end of each hole multiply your individual points together, hoping that each person in the pair scores some points. Results were-

2nd Innes Kennard and Alec Ward 94
The All Teed Up Nearest the Pin on No 8 went to Innes Kennard and on No 18, to Phil Rutene.
In the Thursday New World Supermarket competition Harry Quinn took out first place with 43 stableford points, followed by Peter Forrester and Ash Peterson on 40, and Geoff masters on 39. The All Teed Up Nearest the Pin went to Mike Dixon but the highlight of the day was two 2’s to Geoff Masters who won a moderate birdsnest.
The Wednesday 9 holers had an ‘upskilling’ round where they practised ‘match play’. It’s not known who actually won but the PGG Wrightson Longest Drive went to Ruth Wiley and the All Teed Up Nearest the pin to Geri Southey.
This week the ladies field played the second round of the Nancy McCormack Foursomes. After the first round two weeks ago the pairing of Janice Hayes and Jan Williams led the field on 64.5 nett and they continued their form to win the trophy with a score of 141 nett.
This weekend the course is very busy on Saturday with the club hosting four Otaki Cup interclub teams and two 18 hole teams. Although the course is available for limited play the No 1 and 9 tees will be closed from 7.30 to 9.30 and again from 11.30 to 12.30 and interclub players have strict right of way. The next round of the women’s Tilson Salver will be played at Featherston on Sunday.
