The most disappointed player last Saturday was undoubtedly Ash Peterson. The men were playing for the Riverside Salver which was purchased with the funds given to the club by the old Riverside Club when it closed in 1959. For those that may not know Riverside was an 18 hole course in Masterton where McJorrow Park and Cameron Crescent is today. A very young Ash Peterson was a member there and joined Masterton in 1956 so has played for the Riverside Salver ever since. As he is the only surviving ex member of Riverside it has always been his dream to win the salver but unfortunately, it won’t be in 2015!
