In the next few weeks the Japan Golf Tour is going to play on a course which has a par 6 hole which leads on to where the longest hole in the world is. Up until a few years ago, according to the Guinness Book of Records, this claim was made by the Satsuki course in Japan which boosts a 964 yard (881m) par 7 hole but this domination has been surpassed by the Chocolay Downs course in Michigan which has built a double dog leg par 6 of 1007 yards (921m) and has room to extend it, if their world record is broken!
The last week has seen far more activity on our course with all but one competition, the 9 holers, being able to play.

Off The Fairway
One of the few good things about last week’s weather was it was the first time this winter that the new drainage on No 18 fairway has been tested and the drains came through the heavy rain on Tuesday-Wednesday extremely well. With the drains that have been already placed working well, the Grounds Committee will be able to extend the work to take in the wet area on No 7 and ‘tidy up’ the other wet patches on No 18.
